The German-Engineered TiO2 Hybrid Pigment as an Alternative under EU Anti-Dumping Measures
Anti-dumping duties on titanium dioxide products from China pose major challenges for many manufacturers in Europe and Asia – with small and medium-sized enterprises feeling the pressure most acutely.
The solution:
A functional TPW hybrid pigment, manufactured in an industrial process under controlled temperature and targeted post-treatment – with a TiO₂ content below 80%, and therefore not subject to anti-dumping duties under current EU regulations. The pigment was conceptualized, formulated, and technically validated by my Cologne-based consultancy, Pulveranalyse – Dipl.-Ing. Daniel Moog, on behalf of TINOX. It has been successfully introduced in several international markets, particularly in regions where anti-dumping duties on TiO₂ are in place or under discussion. As an external developer and technical advisor to TINOX, I supported the product presentation of the TPW hybrid pigment at the European Coatings Show 2025 and provided expert consulting at the exhibition booth. The strong level of interest confirmed: the combination of regulatory relevance and technical performance clearly addresses a specific need in the market.
